Gender-based violence increases annually. People should be alarmed and realise that safe spaces are not yet there. All parties including families, schools, communities and the State should take responsibility to create safe spaces , particularly for women, children and people with disability who are factually the most vulnerable groups when it comes to violence.

Decision regarding the function of indigenous forest must follow indigenous mechanism as the subject of law, and not following the State mechanism. What happens today is that the State Forestry Law (protected forest, conservation, and so on) applies even in indigenous forest.

The Network for services for Women and Children vcitims of violence in Sukoharjo (JLPAK2S) is a network of service provider organisations that deal with violence against women and children in Sukoharjo District. The network has identified the output of its program, and integrates it into one activity during JKLPAK2S coordination meeting on Thursday (17/7). With regards to the pre-hearing with the vice district administrator, who has given positive response, the vice district administrator asks the network to draft a mechanism for dealing with violence against women and children.
