These had to do with the implementation of zone-based student acceptance, the merdeka (freedom) curricula, and the high number of school dropouts and of people not attending schools. Surakarta City is known as a cultural city and has a development index of 84.41 in 2024, an increase of 0.87 point from the previous year (83.54).

A 10-year old boy studying at grade 5 at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Miftahul Huda Jakenan Subdistrict, Pati District is running around in his class. His friends come closer as he finishes and stands at a corner, and tell him that the activity is about to begin. His name is Arul. His round face and plum built does not bother his movement. Arul answers questions with ease. He is happy whenever he can play with his friends from Yayasan YAPHI. The by-monthly game during the visit brings him joy, because his friends stimulate into thinking, and the game is always appropriate for a child of his age.

The National Commission for Human Rights put Human Trafficking Crimes as a top human rights priority for 2022 to 2027. It established a monitoring team to assess the effectiveness of prevention and management of human trafficking crimes in 2023, in order to implement its review and research mandate and function as articulated in Law No. 39 Year 1999 on Human Rights.

Thousands of eyes watch the puppet show in the Alternate Universe Ratusan (Wayang Kampung Sebelah or WKS) on Saturday night, 14/12 at Lapangan Segitiga, Kerten, Laweyan - Surakarta. This show becomes the highlight of the 16-day Anti-Violence Against Women organised by Yayasan Yaphi (16 HAKTP) with attendance by peasants from Sambirejo Sragen, Paranggupito Wonogiri, community in Porang Paring, jaringan KOMPAK (network), Jaringan Peduli Sungai Juwana (Jampisawan Network), Jaringan Visi Solo Inklusi, Forum Peduli Kebenaran dan Keadian Sambirejo (FPKKS), Komasipera, JPPAS, MPPS and others.

End of Year Women Congress highlight for 2023 revealed the many cases of violence against women. There were at least 289,111, which prompted the National Women’s Rights Commission to open its door for direct consultation. The Women Congress received reports from 4,347 women who experienced violence. Gender-based violence made up 3,000 of these cases. The Ministry for Women and Child Protection confirmed the data in April 2024, pointing out as many as 2,681 cases in universities. The actual number of cases was far bigger than the number of women reporting the cases.
