Yayasan YAPHI and Masyarakat Peduli Pendidikan Surakarta (MPPS) submitted policy recommendations to the chief of Education Office in the City of Surakarta as a form of citizen contribution to strengthen the children’s rights to learn while at R.A Kartini Hall, Education Office of the City of Surakarta, on Thursday (22/1). The recommendations reflected the urgent need to broaden equal education access, to promote on-par quality amongst schools, and to ensure inclusive and meaningful education services to all children, including children with disability and children with special needs.

The expert witness in judicial review on Law No. 8/2016 said during a zoom meeting discussion about the widening variety of disability and treatment of invisible disability, as consequence of expanding disability understanding, as underlined in the Convention for the Rights of People with Disability or UNCRPD. For Joni, as a form of solidarity with disability movement, the most important was how all could see this as an aspiration that was critical to discuss and review.

It was interesting to read the Annual Report of Aliansi Jurnalis Independen (AJI) Indonesia a while back in relations to press freedom, welfare and professionalism. AJI issued situation update about press freedom, media and journalist situation, announced at the beginning of the year or end of year, as presented by Anastasya A that the Annual Report served not just to remind the public but also to offer recommendations to stakeholders.
