The chairperson of LPSK, Retired Police Brigadier General DR. Achmadi, S.H is present and extends psychosocial assistance to six victim of serious human rights violation in 1965 at Yayasan Yaphi office, Friday (25/4). In his speech, he explains that the psychosocial assistance is far from being enough. But he promises that victims would have the priority.
The chairperson of LPSK also thanks Yayasan Yaphi staff for their work and that there would still be a long way to fight before the victims will get their due rights. "We are sorry that it is fairly late and that it is not fully open yet. We will take a close look at the letters from Yaphi to assess our performance," says DR. Ahmadi, S.H.
Fund shortage renders psychosocial rehabilitation necessary, but only victims who have business who receive it. The latest Presidential Instruction says that there are 19 ministries and offices with an interests in victims. It is expected that victims can be join the rehabilitation in the future, including house renovation. To date, only LPSK meets and helps victims, by providing psychosocial and health assistance.
One day if the Witness and Victim Protection Office or LPSK visits victims businesses, then hopefully all goes well. It will see what products they have and hopes that they will provide reports to the Office. The products will then be displayed at LPSK office under the banner “Production Corner.” There would also be exhibition: pictures of products and phone numbers. Then there would be evaluation for LPSK.
After the assistance is given, LPSK staff will ask whether the State Health Insurance (BPJS Kesehatan) has been and is still being used? Victims get monthly health check and LPSK will monitor the Green Book every six months. Note: If the green book is not being used, then LPSK assumes that it is no longer needed. LPSK can extend the green book if it is being used.
The "Green Book" serves to identify victims of past serious human right violation, particularly in Indonesia. The Witness and Victim Protection Office or LPSK (Lembaga Perlindungan Saksi dan Korban) publishes the "Green Book" as a sign that the State acknowledges and recognizes the survivors. (Ast)
