The Inclusion Volunteer Class initiated by Jaringan Solo Inklusi (Solo Inclusion Vision Network) with 27 members and with support from Yayasan YAPHI completed its session on Saturday (15/11), with a topic on disability sensitivity. Yet, there was a final class they attended – discussion on Human Rights and Disability.
The discussion class is the final “gong” or sign that, while the learning process was over, the participants expected that there would be future classes to proceed through zoom meetings. As one participant, Fithri Setya Marwati said after the certificate distribution on Wednesday (3/12), she expected other classes to update knowledge regarding disability.
At the same time, another class participant, Adnan also expressed similar expectation that training continued via online meetings. He said that the class was very useful to him. An accompaniment teacher in junior high school, Ella also expressed similar view. She indicated that the materials she got from the Relation Class – re. GEDSI, Advocacy, Disability Sensitivity and peace-building within self - was extremely useful. Ella expected that she would get more self-confident in accompanying autistic children after attending the Human Rights and Disability Class.
The initiator of Relation Class and the moderator in a number of sessions, Pamikatsih stated that the Relation Class was not the final class as she would try to organise other classes in the future, after the evaluation was completed. As an initiator, Pamikatsih had already made available GEDSI classes in 2022-2023 which involved 30 disability activists that included survivors, caregivers (family members), students, and women and children activists.
