There was something interesting in the Talk Show at Bestari Festival, on Saturday, 19 October, with regards to the question posed by the organizer “If young people want to set up a community movement, what would be the re-definition of Impact?

Maghfiro Ridho, Headline of Marketing IdeaFest suggested that partners are critical to a movement, that there is no need to announce impacts on a worldwide scale, as long as one is able to set up a community at the smallest level, starting with family, or workplace.

Zensa Rahman from Pemimpin.id opined that value-best community happens when becoming a community is a need. For example, when people form a community for the first time when they found fire. This allowed language to develop, then people gathered to talk about values. And what about the distribution? Value is essential. Today, the meeting point is social media. "Then what is impact? It is what is useful for ourselves first, for other people and…quickly," said Zensa.

Fanbul Prabowo, another speaker at the talkshow and a founder of Minutes of Manager (MoM) said that when setting up a movement, one of the important things was story telling. For him, Indonesia was established first of all through story-telling, which was later agreed upon together. Sosial movement as the end-product became the life breath. He also added that social movement did not necessarily become big. For him, there were three key things in movement: PVS - Partners, Value and Story-Telling.

Fanbul added that if it was difficult to get an opportunity like what people had in Jakarta, then the trend now was to distribute that Jakarta trend to other areas as local trends were very strong but lacked the publicity as in Jakarta. "Our challenge in Jakarta was that we did not have a binocular to see one-by-one, hence the need to reach-out. " said Fanbul.

What caused anxiety when we face a problem in community?
A childhood memory of a person who took pleasure in burning rubbish. To date, that still happened. So, that behavoiur must be forbidden, said Zensa Rahman. A similar thing happened with Maghfiro Ridho.

Meanwhile, Zensa said bluntly that she was inspired by HOS. Tjokroaminoto’s house, re. His leadership. Why did Indonesia not have so many leaders? In 2019, Indonesia had only eight million leaders, according to a leadership research. Zensa believed that everybody was a leader. Everyone was aware that a leader was not a chief, as chief was only a title. Leadership started when one is finished with oneself. From early in life, people were taught that leadership meant becoming a champion, when in fact it was false, as we were essentially all leaders.

Then the question arose which prompted the establishment of MoM, to bring comfort to people? The answer is a secret. People who had problems as professionals. They had no union and association that represented them, and it was a power imbalance vis-a-vis office owner/manager. Then there was the establishment and meeting of Minute of Manajer. MoM lived through its members’ participatory movement. "In Jakarta, it was rare to find a third space. The first space was our own house, the second was our office and then the third space. It was as simple as creating an art concept – non-hierarchical models. We tried to implement this in Jogja. There was a term srawung - that is the essence of Indonesia - Srawung. "We lost that and other cities wanted it too. Then we provided an opportunity in Jakarta but with friendship like in Jogja, " said Fanbul.
